At present, I am currently finishing up my Master's in Real Estate Development at Columbia University. Throughout this past year I have focused my studies across real estate development, asset management and acquisitions. I am very interested in real estate across all sectors and asset classes including office, residential, industrial, multi-family, and mixed-use. I have volunteered with groups The Robin Hood organization while living in NYC full-time over the past 5 years in order to fight poverty and homelessness. As an undergraduate student at Wake Forest University '2014, I was a Business-Enterprise Management major, with a concentration in International Business, a minor in Global Trade & Commerce, and a minor in Mandarin-Chinese. Morgan Stanley, New York, New York Prime Brokerage – Client Service Associate/Account Manager Aug 2016 – May 2019 • Associate within Morgan Stanley’s leading Prime Brokerage (PB) division, working interdepartmentally to provide services such as clearing and custody, technology, risk management, and financing to hedge funds and other performance-oriented asset managers • Member of seven-person Client Coverage team, personally responsible for overseeing 20+ hedge fund clients, average Assets Under Management (AUM) at MS across all clients covered is $150-200mm • Covered REIT focused hedge funds with a mandate to invest across equity & mortgage real estate investment trusts, allowing me to learn about real estate from a public equities perspective • Responsible for daily account maintenance including issuing margin calls, collaborating with stock-loan, amending and clearing trade breaks, and communicating regulatory changes to C-suite executives across 20+ hedge fund clients • Coordinate with the MS PB Capital-Introduction department to introduce hedge fund managers and PMs to potential institutional investors; responsible for facilitating 10+ introductions to prospective foundations, endowments, and pension funds • Leverage the MS PB Sales department to identify organic growth opportunities, and ensure smooth transitions for new funds being onboarded to the MS PB platform; responsible for identifying, conducting due diligence for, and presenting case to MS’s Client Selection Committee for opportunity expected to generate $1mm in incremental revenue • Weekly client meetings with CFOs, COOs, Directors of Operations, and/or Operations personnel, which led to in-depth knowledge of client-specific needs as well as sustainable and rewarding business relationships • Promote use of trading via SWAP products to provide synthetic exposure for clients, which is particularly relevant in emerging markets where trading on cash requires segregated market IDs
Morgan Stanley, New York, New York Private Wealth Management - Client Sales Associate Aug 2014 – Aug 2016 • Integral member of Brian Pfeifler’s private wealth management team; Barron’s 2014-2018 Top 100 Financial Advisors in the U.S. • Managed daily operations across 100+ client relationships including trades, investments, and communications; assets under management surpassed 7+ billion USD • Assisted with direct placement of client capital into Real Estate Private Equity investments including investment due diligence, capital calls, redemptions, and the analysis of quarterly performance memos • Worked closely with management and product groups to develop tailored solutions to meet the needs of high net-worth individuals, family offices, and institutional investors; this included $100M art loan for client who used art collection as collateral • Conducted research on prospective alternative investments for clients, specifically outside managed hedge funds and private equity platforms, which led to more than 20+ new business opportunities • Assisted with prospecting efforts and pitching numerous Morgan Stanley products and retail services, including trading equities and government bonds, to family office clients and high net-worth individuals, which resulted in approximately $50M in additional AUM • Team received firm-wide recognition for contributions to Morgan Stanley Private Bank’s Liquidity Access Line program (LALs) for providing collateralized loans to wide array of sophisticated clients
